Designing Freedom With ARRA | Handmade Jewelry

Freedom is something we design from the heart,” says Aradhana, who joyfully embraces her role as a jewelry designer. Over the past twenty-one years, she has traveled the globe, immersing herself in the vibrant cultures of various countries.

Aradhana's journey began in a small town in India, where her parents nurtured her independence and instilled a forward-thinking work ethic. This foundation empowered her to believe that anything was possible. Her mother, a trailblazing dress designer in the early 80s, established herself within the Indian community and beyond, paving the way for Aradhana's own aspirations.

In 1996, Aradhana moved to Indonesia to embark on a new business venture. For seven years, she expertly managed the administrative and accounting aspects of a co-owned business enterprise before relocating to Shanghai in 2003. Embracing the cultural richness of her new surroundings, she thrived as a tai-tai (the Chinese term for housewife), balancing motherhood and settling down in a new place.

As she navigated this exciting chapter, Aradhana felt a calling for a new challenge. With her impressive language skills—fluent in Hindi, Punjabi, English, Mandarin, and Bahasa (Indonesian)—she decided it was time to launch her own business.

"Shanghai is where I came into my own and became truly free in every sense of the word.”

In 2006, she founded VEDIC LIFE, a curated boutique that showcased her passion for jewelry and art. The business blossomed, leading to the launch of her first jewelry collection in Jakarta in 2014. Aradhana aimed to reflect life's beauty through design while exploring her artistic side. By focusing on colors and textures, she created pieces that resonated with her personal style and those of her clients.

At its core, Aradhana’s handmade jewelry line is playful and unique, with each piece reflecting the joy and energy derived from her friendships and cultural experiences. Her adventurous spirit shines through every aspect of her business and her enthusiastic approach to jewelry design.

“I love gemstones. Each has a healing property on the design level, which is very spiritual for me. My jewelry is all about being you, expressing yourself, and making a statement that pays tribute to feeling confident.”

Quality is paramount in Aradhana's creations; each piece embodies the emotions of both her clients and the skilled artisans who help bring her vision to life.

Returning to India after 21 years, Aradhana launched a new brand name: ARRA in 2019 -  a tribute to her own name. Her passion continues to drive her work as she designs with heart and embraces new challenges influenced by socio-cultural changes.

Curiosity and sensitivity to business nuances are vital to Aradhana's success. She strives to create an inviting atmosphere for customers deciding on their purchases.

“I want women to feel good when they wear my pieces and express their personalities. I design jewelry for women who appreciate fashionable yet affordable options.” She adds, “Every woman who wears ARRA should feel beautiful inside out, connected to herself and confident.”

As a global Indian who has discovered freedom and balance through pursuing her passions relentlessly, Aradhana embodies personal and professional happiness.

She launches two new collections every year without being confined by industry norms or trends. Whether she’s sourcing gemstones in Jaipur or experimenting with designs at her desk, one-of-a-kind pieces naturally emerge from her creativity.

ARRA is available online and at select stores in Goa and bangalore  in India as well as boutique stores in the United states of America. Trunk shows abroad further expand Aradhana’s global reach.
